Who gives you witty, clever answers? Who calls you names, rather than humor you, if they don't like your question? Or is it a wash?

I don't want to leave out the Libertarians - but they always seem to give wise answers. (In my opinion.)

If we are going to trash the other party for not having humor, shouldn't we use humor to do so?

:-)

Overall, I think humor runs pretty much evenly across the political spectrum.

I think you'll see a disproportionate number of professional comics on the left, but I don't think that's because liberals are inherently more funny. I think it's because conservatives tend not to pursue careers in entertainment.

One can point to funny people on either end of the spectrum, and one can find grumpy humorless individuals on both sides, too. For every prim, puritanical conservative there seems to be an equally humorless, perpetually-outraged neurotic liberal.

Since I'm not really a conservative or a liberal, I think I can objectively state that both sides use a lot of name-calling and both sides have witty answers from time to time.

Libertarians are truly the best responders to political debate. Although, I do not always agree with their positions. I enjoy listening to them because they know how to debate. On the other hand Democrats can't do either, be funny or debate. Republicans have a humor but are beginning to stoop to the low of the Democrats due to the media machine that is for every liberal position irregardless of the impact on this country. When you have the deck stacked against you to get your views made public you have to be creative. Democrats have not had to be creative since the 50's. The liberal media has been their mouth piece. They haven't had to win a debate or be funny since...time to have another political party come on the scene and take the power away from the Dem's.. Libertarian looks good.

Good question. Bush is a pretty funny guy. Just watch one of his press conferences. But then when you're president, everybody laughs real hard at anything you say that is even remotely humourous. That's part of the fun of being president. Getting stuffed shirts and fat pantloads to yuck it up. Personally, I think Dems are the funniest, although they don't mean to be, I'm sure. "Chicken Little' Algore - "the polar caps are melting and we're all gonna drown next Tuesday" Nancy Pelosi is to my mind what a real dominatrix should look like. Man, I'd give a week's pay for a spanking session from her. She is rude and crude. Just nasty. Hillary is every man's ex-wife. That look can freeze a man in his tracks for three days. And John Kerry. How ya like to live next door to this fat cat? I mean, he'd be over every afternoon to borrow some Grey Poupon. The list of entertaining Dems is endless. Republicans are pretty boring.

I used to have a sense of humor until I saw how the Liberal Democrats have convinced all of the Liberals on this sight that all Republicans are racists and homophobes. I am neither! I am sure there are plenty of Democrats who are racists and homophobes but the Republicans don't assume they all are. The fact is the Democrats usually raise taxes not the Republicans. One of the issues of this race is whether we can keep Bush's tax cuts or not!

It's usually the neocons bashing "liberals", calling them communist and any other uncivil, incorrect word the can find! Sen. McCarthy still lives!

The live on a deck of cards and I can't wait until the ever flowing spigot from deficit spending, a hallmark of Bush as he has done it better than anyone before him) and the war, which isn't even in the deficit.

They call everyone criminals but themselves, while they want to kill every Iraqi that there is (I don't understand why we are there, except for oil. It was never to free the Iraqi's!), and violate every law on the books in this country! People who live in glass houses!

Someone once said that the Devil has a great sense of humor, so I'd say ....... the Demoncrats. Lots of witty & deflective answers, and an abundance of name-calling when they don't have any answer at all.

But clever, witty answers aren't necessarily what is needed to get the job done properly & effectively. For that, you need Republicans.

Vote Tuesday.
Vote Republican.

I think it varies from man to man and person to person so one can not link sense of humor with political attachments.
