Neonatal and perinatal mortality in Ireland are at the lowest levels ever due to improvements in general living conditions, advances in the standard of obstetric care, the uptake of maternal and infant care, public health nursing service, the national childhood immunisation programme, and increasing promotion and awareness among mothers of the importance of antenatal care and healthy lifestyles.

Low infant mortality is due to Ireland's improving healthcare system and the removal of the stigma of children being born out of wedlock. Therefore there are fewer and fewer cases of babies being born in secret and the mother trying to hide it.

It is simply because they are taught to save themselves until they are married.Where as we here in the good ole USA have the option of not paying attention to what we were taught and screwing before marriage! Ask me how I know! LoL
