The safest means of getting rid of a UTI during pregnancy is by drinking unsweetened cranberry juice. ( Unsweetened cranberry juice is quite tart, but works like a charm!) Cranberry juice contains enzymes that flush the urinary tract. This process may take up to 7 days in serious cases, but relief is usually seen within 3 days. The fact that the UTI is reoccurring indicates she may not be drinking enough water, or holding off bathroom trips too long. Sugary soda pop can irritate UTI's, and encourage inflammation, thus should be avoided while treating a UTI. At least 8, eight ounce glasses of water daily, and as much cranberry juice as she can drink should clear her problem up. Should the UTI persist, I would suggest that she seek her M.D. to further treat her.

Those are caused by bacteria from the anus getting into the urinary tract. Keep clean, try using cotton panties to absorb sweat to reduce spreading of bacteria. Antiobiotics will cure it but migh throw off other bacteria in the body and she'll end up with a yeast infection. Cranberry pills, cranberry juice, and water help flush out the bacteria, but that's really all you can do. You have to drink A LOT of cranberry juice for it to be effective (it makes the walls of the UT 'slippery' so the bacteria can't stick) and a LOT of water to flush it out. Stay away from caffiene, it seems to make it worse. I hear lemon juice (not citrus, but lemon juice specifically) also helps clean the digestive track, but cranberry juice and water is the only thing I've heard for sure. Soap may also irritate the situation, try a non-soap cleanser (like Dove). DO NOT use those feminine cleansing clothes, those are infections waiting to happen. Good luck, take care, I know those things are miserable!

Tons and tons of water. Urinate frequently.
UTIs in pregnancy are incredibly common and easy to get. The baby rests on the bladder, which makes it difficult to empty completely, which can lead to a build up of bacteria and cause an infection.
Cranberry juice isn't really very helpful. It's almost all sugar, and some apple juice. Pure cranberry juice would be helpful, however also horribly sour.

Prophylactic antibiotics will keep the infection at bay, but they must be taken every day and prescribed by an OB-GYN, who can monitor the effectiveness. The only natural means would be cranberry or blueberry juice or extract. There are over-the-counter medications in the pharmacy that claim to inhibit UTIs. Again though, as she is pregnant, everything should be okayed by her OB-GYN first.

The natural way would be cranberrry juice.
Chicken broth (in a can). sounds weird but it works to help flush out the kidneys/bladder.
The best thing would be to get her to a doctor. They have medications/antibiotics that are safe for a pregnant woman to take.
Antibiotics along with Chicken broth/cranberry juice is very affective and will help in a faster recovery.

One of the only ways to do it is drink 8- 10 glasses of water a day... It will flush out the bacteria in the bladder, and also flush out the urethra, which becomes painful. Other than that, try drinking cranberry juice, which is thought to prevent it. Also, try AZO, which is an over the counter medicine, and try taking half of it, but ask your doctor first. But the only thing he will say is, DRINK TONS OF WATER!

Go to your local natural vitamin shop. I suffered from frequent UTI's when I was pregnant. Obviously, drink lots of water. If she works, make sure that when she has to go to the bathroom at work that she goes right away instead of holding it, even for one minute. If she has to go, she should go. I also took CranMax, which was a dietary supplement. I found it at my local Fruitful Yield. The women there are also very knowledgeable. One of my UITS required antibiotics b/c it got so painful that I couldn't even walk! Good luck.

Sometime sit happens after sex, when bacteria can be "pushed" in to the urethra, and become an infection. I used to get UTI, when I first started having sex with my husband, and was advised to go to the toilet to urinate after having sex, and any bacteria or whatever is flushed out. I haven't had a UTI for ages, by doing this. I know it's a "pain" sometimes, to get up and go to the toilet, instead of going to sleep, but it's worth it.

Cranberry Juice or if she doesn't like that try Apple Juice, it works just as good. I suffered from UTI while I was pregnant and that was what helped me.
