There's no legal amount of time that you have to be married before you can get divorced. People have divorced months after marrying. If you file for divorce, it can take several months to a year for the divorce to be finalized.

Each state is different with their divorce laws. I do know that you have been married long enough to get a divorce. My son is trying to get a divorce and he married in Dallas, TX. He thought by him only being married for 3 months he could get an annulment which would just void the marriage. You know as if it never happened. The trick to that was he and his wife had consummated the marriage which means they have to go through the divorce proceedings. Three different lawyers told him that if his wife doesn't contest the divorce it would take up to 90 days before the divorce is finalized. Good Luck and GOD BLESS!!!!!

You can file for a divorce at any time you want to. The time it takes depends on the courts schedule and varied local laws.
For the most part a divorce will take 2 -3 months from the day you file until it becomes final. In some states you will then have to wait if you want to marry someone else.
A local lawyer should be able to offer advise you need. Many will give a free consultation. If you cannot afford a lawyer your state bar association can direct you to one that will do it for free or reduced fees.

It does not matter how long you've been married. You need to give us more details though. Do you live in the US? My first sentence depends on that. If you do, which state do you live in? Do both parties consent to the divorce? If they both consent, then in most states, it takes only months after the application. Are parties in agreement as to divison of equity, children matters, alimony? Again, that would speed the procedure. Has one party moved out already? Was there fault, such as abuse? Many factors affect the speed with which the court rules, after one party files.

If you get married to someone on tuesday and want a divorce on wednes day, it is legal. You dont have to wait any amount of time, when you get the paper saying you're married, you can go get the divorce papers, i dont know why you'd want to get married just to get divorced, but oh well.

Depends on why you got married. To become a citizen? In our country, you can divorce or get an annulment the next day.
