If tragedy never happened in one life, then one wouldn't treasure the happiness.
If tragedy never happened in our life, then people might neglect the beauty of life.

Tragedies happen for no particular reason. It is the law of averages. If you keep crossing intersections and you don't watch, you can do it for 200 times and brakes will squeel, but you won't get hurt. One day you will be hurt. Sickness is the same way. It sneaks up on a certain % of the population for no reason. There is less of this than any other time in the history of mankind. There is a lot of it in poorer countries even today, because they don't have the technology. In the 18th century death was common with children. In the 20th it much less common. Has nothing to do with anything but science and technology.

I ask myself this question all the time! I have dealt with more tragedies in one life, then many will ever see. I feel that things just happen for a reason and that with things like death that when it is your time, that you will go and have no power over it.
My parents died in a car accident almost eight years ago and I felt like it was the end of the world. But, tragedy has made me stronger and more accepting of how things are in life. You have to know that life goes on and that you are still left with normal life with family, friends, work and everything else.

Its part of life. And we as humans sometimes cause our own tragedies. If someone gets into their car drunk and he or she ends up dying because they crashed and burned, well its simple to understand that. There's almost aleast an answer to every tragedy.
Take care & have a nice weekend.

Well, I can better grasp this concept for myself by understanding the belief of reincarnation. You have one good life, your next life kind of sucks, your next life it awful, your next life rocks...it varies for different people wether this life is going to be good or not. The purpose of having "tragedies" happen to you is so you can learn. That's what God (or a different Greater Force) wants us to have.
