Many people have different opinions on what is the largest breed of domesticated dog. Great danes are perhaps what people most associate with " lagrgest breed". They are a pretty good size, but they are not the largest breed. They stand 30-34 inches.Females-28-32inches. Dogo Argentinos are pretty big too. Irish wolfhounds are a pretty good size as well 28-35 inches, so they can be bigger then great danes. Russian wolfhounds are similar in size as well. The Old english mastiff is the LARGEST breed of the world. Great danes and Irish wolfhounds may be taller but they do not match the mastiffs for weight over size.
