My friend invited me to a play up at adrian college (michigan) tonight at 8..
Although he said it was semi-formal..
What are things that are considered semi-formal?
I dont even OWN any dresses or skirts.. i hate them in fact. I'm quite a tomboy....
Basically the only thing i own are jeans and tshirts..
Do you think i would be okay with plain black jeans with a plain tshirt?
Also if i just wear black jeans, what color shirt should i wear?
I have black, teal, dark blue, and tealish-dark blue color shirts..
Any suggestions?

My idea of semi formal is slacks, sweaters, skirts, button up shirts or three quarter sleeve shirts, and nice shoes, and maybe a little simple jewelry.
So, generally speaking, jeans are too casual. Do you have any other slacks or khakis? If you do, I'd opt for those. But if you must do jeans, dark colors are more formal than light.
As far as tops go, pick a nice color and try for a shirt that has no writing on it, if you have that. If you own any sweaters or button down shirts I'd go with that before a t-shirt, but I don't know what you have to work with, so these are just suggestions.
All that said, plays aren't usually all that formal. You'll be sitting in a dark audience. Just relax and enjoy the show!

Dress up those jeans. If you have some really interesting blue denim with some of the new stylish washes, in a fit that accentuates your best features. If you are not going more formal, then accentuate your sexuality, and I do not mean in a trashy way. Go for class, not trash. Wear some boots or shoes with nice heels and heel or no heel, make sure they are polished. Wear your very best tee-shirt,. in the very best colour that everyone tells you looks good on you. Maybe it is the teal one? Teal usually looks wonderful on everyone or the black could make you look understated and sexy. Wear ear rings and nice jewellery if you have some. Wear lipstick. of nothing else and use hair spray what ever your hair style. The trick from changing from casual tom-boy, is to make sure you look more polished than you were before. It is important for you to feel like youself, but a polished up version.

A nice pair of trouser's & plain shirt would be nice,If you wear black jeans then wear a plain t-shirt & put sum long beads with it to fancy it up a bit.

What you own is casual or semi casual...semi-formal is a bit more... Feel free to go as you can aford, but e reaDY FOR THE LOOKS... i'D INVEST IN A SEMI FORMAL OUTFIT FOR SUCH AN OCCASION.
