Im not saying leave Ben on bench, but im saying i think it's obvious to anyone watching that this Ben is not the old ben and im thinking the concussion has alot to do with that, as well as the pre season injuries...so i never understod why they rushed him back so fast, especially RIGHT after the concussion.

The Steelers cant seem to stop the pass if their lives depended on it all of a sudden true.. but they have played well enough that if Ben had not made sum of the HORRENDOUS decisions throwing the ball he has made...they would NOT be 2-5

Right now Big Ben needs to sit on the bench to regain his strength and composure. This guy has been in a serious motorcycle accident, undergone surgery, and had a fairly serious concussion all in the last six months. His body needs some time to heal. Rothlisberger is really the quarterback for the next five to ten years for the Steelers, so there is really no point in letting him go out there and get hurt more.

Actually Ben gets richer off Performance Bonus then contract. Sure he proably makes a decent amount this year, but he would have been expected to play this year. On the other hand you have Batch making back-up money, which is decent money too. So are the Rooney's really getting that much more value to risk Ben instead of play Batch? I doubt it is that much. Besides the Rooney's have enough money that they know how to make buisness decisions long term. I understand your logic though. Anyway Ben wants to play, and the top doctors oked it. I think he should have sat against Oakland but should be ok this week. Tell me though if he played like he did against K.C. and Atlanta, would you say why not bench him the rest of the season? No you would be like most saying well he is back in form. So what if plays the rest of the sesaon like that? Will you eat your words and admit there was reason to keep him in? Yeah I admit it could risk shortening his carrer but I don't think it will.

If his play is due to an injury, then they should put him on injured reserve and call it a season or hold him out for a few more weeks.
Charlie Batch will not get the Steelers to the playoffs, there are other reasons the Steelers are having problems.

I agree! let him sit out the rest of the year and heal up because the steelers aren't going anywhere anyway, if Cowher keeps playing him there's a good chance he will get another concussion and possibly end his career early due to concussions like Steve Young and Troy Aikman.

i think we should bench him but not forever. charlie batch is a good QB but i still think ben is better. Ben should just be benched for lik the first half and not the whole gme. we could compare the two of them.

I think I know the reason they rushed him back so fast.
He's making a TON of money. He's going to get payed whether he plays or sits on the bench. It seems to me that the owner(s) of the Steelers want to get the top value for their money.
On one hand, it shows that they have a lot of faith in Ben R.
On the other hand, it just might mean an early end to his career.
Oh yeah, and.....GO BEARS!!!!!!

I think that they should have made him take more time and recover from everything. I dont think they rushed him back in I think HE rushed himself back in. I think our record would be alittle better if Batch would have played but I also think we have more problems then just the Quarterback.
