when a woman wears heels they make her feel tall and important and professional, and when we wear heels we stand up straight and and our legs look more elegant, wearing heels forces us to raise our chests and pull back our shoulders so we look sophisticated. if you are still wondering why dont you try walking around in heels then you might realize why we like to wear them

Vainity. Everyone wants to look pretty, or even tall. Especially for the vertically challenged like me. Heels dress up our clothes too, make can even make some clothes look more feminine. Come on, can YOU imagine a girl going to say, prom, or some formal party in an elegant, flowing gown but wearing sliipers? Or even sneakers?? Just doesn't suit the occasion, does it?
And...it has been shown in papers that heels not over 2-3 inches CAN actually be suitable for some foot types.hehe...:)

There's nothing wrong with wearing glasses as a bridesmaid. You do what's most comfortable for you. As for the shoes - you have a couple options. If you get a pedicure and have freshly shaved legs, you could get away without pantyhose for the wedding. (Especially if the skirt is long.) They do have pantyhose that is open-toed - it kind of hooks around your big toe like a pair of flip flops - that would be good for this kind of situation. You can also buy very nice (and pricey, but it's worth it) hose that has next to no seam at the toe. I've seen many women wear this with open-toed shoes, and I'm from California where we try to avoid pantyhose like the plague!

I don't know who invented them, but they make my legs look longer and me look taller. I don't wear anything higher than three inches. Depending on the brand, they can be comfortable.
These are good for me: Talbots, Naturalizer, Michelle D (Dillards), Anne Klein, Liz Claiborne. Life Stride kills my feet.

I agree with you. I hate the damn things and rarely wear them. Each time I wear them, I suffer back aches, muscle ache and severe foot discomfort. I always felt like I was a defective girl for not being able to tolerate them b/c, according to T.V., all women effortlessly glide about in their stilettos.
But, that said, they make your legs look better and make you look more feminine.

Heels make us stand up taller, make our legs looks longer and leaner, and they're a lot nicer looking than sneakers. Does that answer your question?

the person who came up with the idea of heels wanted to torture women.... they are extremely uncomfortable, and I only wear them if I really have no other choice
