There is no one answer. Every automotive era has/has had its stars and its losers. Does the "best" mean the fastest, or the most reliable, or the most beautiful, or what?
Frankly, I like the Aston Martin. However it is not, and never was, practical transportation. Since the parent company, Ford, is in financial straits, I would say the future of Aston Martin is uncertain.

The Matador. Not only capable of guzzling down gas but extremely ugly! When the shocks go out on those babies it's best to get you a regular chair to sit on just to see over the hood.
Then My next choice of best car ever would have to be the Ford International, when people seen you coming down the road, all they really seen was ugly coming at you. (shivers)
Now I do have a third that I consider to be on my top list of "best car ever".. that would have to be the Pinto.. yeah baby!! After years of owning one of those hot little numbers the rust would collect in the middle of the car, and eventually rust apart, in fact, if the rust was so bad and you was sitting at a red light and thought you was all that and then some and was going to show that little punk off to the side that your car is hot, and peeled out, that is when most likely the rust would take it course and the front end of the car would be taking off, and the rear,(with passengers) still sitting at the light.
There are so many cars that I thought was the best ever, now they're just collecting in my back yard, mostly for memories. I love them all!!

The DB9 Vanquish is a beautiful car that performs like a car with that price tag should.
The Nissan Skyline R34 GTR is considered the best car ever made from an enthusiasts standpoint. The new US spec r35 promises not to dissapoint as well.
Personally I love the Subaru Legacy GT sedans. Longevity, durability and fun to drive. And they all look sharp to boot.
Nothing wrong with BMW's either. Depends on what you want.
