EDIT* - I really want to know what goes on inside the head of a so-called 'fellow American' when they have chosen to close their eyes to terrorism. Anytime a question regarding this issue is posted, the Gang of Democrats spew hatred towards the asker.

I believe terrorism to be one of the most important issues facing us today, if not the most important. However, I do believe that some Republicans (mainly Bush) use terrorism to try and scare the American people into voting for Republicans. I highly doubt that most democratic party leaders really want to ignore the problem of terrorism. Despite what many people believe both parties have intelligent people. Also, both parties know if another attack happens on their watch they will be killed in the next elections. I think democrats would handle things differently. The problem with Democrats is that they don't come out and state what they would do to improve the situation. Who's fault was 9/11? Hmm, I don't know, maybe it was the TERRORISTS! Maybe Clinton could have done more to fight terrorists. Maybe some of Bush's staff ignored warning signs. But sometimes bad people do bad things and no one person can be held responsible. If you truly believe that only Republicans want America to be safe, then you are not nearly as intelligent as I thought you were. Maybe you should try thinking for yourself and not follow every word that comes out of Rush Limbaugh and Presidents Bush's mouth.

Because that is what you do best!

There were no terrorist in Iraq, there was no TONS of Saran Gas, there were no nukes that were going to be dropped on the US by those little drone planes Iraq had! Hell, they didn't even have anything to do with 9/11!

Instead of making more terrorists by our treatment of others, the REALITY of terrorism does not lie in Iraq! Moreover, it does not lie in any one country! The reality of Terrorism is that you piss too many people off, and they just won't sit and take it. They didn't against the Russians and they won't against us! They have no fear of the US!

Yes and your great economy! If I had let loose 4 1'2 TRILLION dollars into the market and let oil company's gouge people, I suspect a 2 year-old could have a good economy! So, at whose expense is it good for? Certainly not the middle income or poor! Follow the money!

Just because something is REAL doesn't mean it's LIKELY. It also doesn't mean that EVERY possible sollution is a good one. I am a liberal and I agree that terorrism is real, but I disagree with the Replubican/Conservative response to it.

It's REAL that people die in car crashes every year, but do they die EVERY time they get in a car? Do you still ride in cars? Of course you do, death in a car is real, but it's rare enough that we still feel safe enough to continue riding in cars.

Would it be a good solution for automobile accidents if we outlawed all cars and jailed all car manufacturers? No, of course not, we have to have a solution that's reasonable for the risk. Instead we try to build safer cars, put in seat belts and air bags, and try to make roads safer with traffic lights and speed limits.

Would it be a good solution if we made all cars faster? I mean, faster cars will get to their destination sooner, and be on the road for less time. If you're on the road for less time, you're less likely to get in an accident right? No, this logic doesn't work because when the car is driving faster that makes it MORE likely to get in an accident.

Similarly, I admit that terrorism is real. However, it's not reasonable to strip search every person who gets on a plane. What about if we only strip searched everyone wearing a turban? That seems a little more reasonable at first, but in reality people of the Sikh faith are a lot more likely to wear turbans than Islamic peoples, and there aren't really any Sikh terrorists. Searching all of them is just silly and has nothing to do with preventing terrorism.

Another example: While some people may say that the war in Iraq seems like a good solution, I think it really isn't. Killing people in Iraq makes many people more angry at the USA, and therefore actually ENCOURAGES more terrorism from people in other countries.

using fact the undesirable dears have not have been given any platform and that they hate that . 9/11 is a "conspiracy" to them. John Kerry, their treasonous "hero" is the terrific they could do in '04 . The 4% unemployment value is the terrific the U.S. has ever considered-yet it makes democrats offended , using fact a Republican is in place of work with a 4% unemployment value ; sooo democrats initiate "Blaming "McDonald's for the unemployment value . i in my view had democrat responses to the 4% unemployment value -as tho it have been a venereal disease . while ever they get caught of their unlawful or treasonous antics - it incredibly is a great genuine-wing conspiracy ; yet they are the king of conspiracy -with each and everything from 9/11 to a hurricane . Democrats can see activities unfold previously their eyes yet while they did no longer invent it -it did no longer exist .

Terrorism is the ability to inspire fear. So tell me, how does the republican fear-mongering help anything regardless of the state of terrorism? Right-wing fear-mongering more often than not just gets in the way.

Because that is in fact what it is. We deal with facts not fiction. This is fact. No terrorist in the world would face our Marines in a fair fight, none. Terrorist are cowards, they would not even face the average American in a fair fight. Terrorist do the dirty work behind our backs, just like In Nam. We lost 58,000 in Nam and Bush and Cheney had a exit strategy for that war. They know nothing of war. At least Kerry served. Republicans love war, they love the money it makes the defense industry's they also love sending others off to fight and die while they will not.

We do not allow fear to control our lives or who we vote for. I will not tolerate being told by politicians either vote republican or the terrorists win. I am intelligent enough to separate reality from fiction. I realize that there are people in this world who want to do my country harm, I also realize why they want to do my country harm. I do not however believe that the best way to keep those people from doing harm to my country is to elect the party into office whose biggest supporters are making a killing off of the war that is supposedly to keep us safer.

What really amuses me is that during the last presidential election the Dems were say that the Repubs were using fear to hold power yet they sent out registration forms designed to look like draft notices. I'm glad they don't use fear, can you imagine what they would have mailed out otherwise?

Terrorism is a threat. But I feel having 25,000 nuclear warheads pointed at us in the 1980's was a much bigger threat to our way of life than some clown with a suicide vest....but that is just me.

Foreign terrorism, in fact exists. BUT:
1. not to the extent that CNN has shown you.
2. it is partly a reaction to Bush's government terrorism.
