Seems to me (especially since I actually fought in Iraq, unlike you 101st Fightin' Keyboard Brigade members) that he was a paper tiger who posed VERY little threat to our way of life. Bin Ladin (and Kim il-Jong for that matter) were much larger threats. Yet Bin Ladin is still breathing air today. Why?

So he killed people? Did he kill people in the US like Bin Ladin did? Are we the world's police force?

Amen!
Thanks for fighting in a war that we all thought was to protect our safety. Our Country is always indebted and appreciative of those who serve.

The answer to your question is this: From what I have read - the Bin Laden family has long time ties with the Bush Family. If that is true - I cannot believe a good enough effort was put forward in capturing Bin Laden. Secondly - little shrub went after Saddam to make up for the unfinished business Pappy left behind during his unsuccessful years in The White House. The history books WILL tell the story eventually.

So you fought in Iraq. Big deal, quite a few know-nothing libs have fought in Iraq and come back to whine about it as if theirs is the only point of view that matters. Sort of like libs with a degree in Political Science who refuse to think that anyone else can have an opinion on political matters. Stop looking at one slice of history and look at the big picture, jughead.

I haven't heard too many right-wingers claim that he is a bigger threat. Most consider Bin Laden to have been (past tense intentional) a bigger and more direct threat. Today Bin Laden is having to keep his head very low because of our presence in the Middle East (and our presence makes other nations more willing, perhaps reluctantly, to help us do that). Others are more dangerous than him now.

And speaking of Hussein again, whlie he was not the biggest threat, he is an incredibly anti-U.S. player in the area who committed major crimes against his own people. He should not be breathing air, and hopefully the upcoming verdict will help to get him on the path to become a non-air breather.

You ignore the people of Iraq that he massacred. Bin Ladin is a wasted man and receives far more attention than he deserves. The organization he founded is now beyond his control and yet people let him gain status. When will people understand it is the middle management that does things. The top of every organization only takes credit for the work of underlings. Tearing at the core of terrorist accomplishes much more than wasting time chasing old men around mountains.

Bin Laden was not in control of an oil rich country nor in a position to conduct nuclear weapons experimentation.

EDIT: bin lyn answered the question. Re-read it, he said that some things are not disclosed to the public, not even in our lifetimes. Country's in wars usually disclose everything about it after almost everyone from that era is dead. Look at Turkey, they still deny the Armenian genocide

While you're at it, ask them why Bush responded so much more thoroughly and quickly to Kerry's joke than to Hurricane Katrina.
