There is alot of movement on a waterbed. It is difficult to get out of one depending on what kind of frame you have. They are cold unless you have a heater installed and God forbid if you have an enemy who could crawl in the window and poke a hole in it...get my drift...I would go with a pillowtop mattress. I have one and they are great, very comfy....

I used to have the king waveless with the cellulose stuff inside it and it was marvelous! You know that feeling when you first wake up - you are so snugly and totally relaxed, and all you have to do to go to sleep again is close your eyes?
That is how you feel when you first get into a good waterbed to go to sleep! Wonderful!

That was the PRO, and the only CON I can think of is when you would have to move it.

It looks very nice. The thing with water beds is that if you sleep with somebody else the minute he/she turns over the ripples will get to you. If you're a deep sleeper go for it, if not, well, good luck.

The other thong about these beds is that the water being like it is will get the room temperature. Where I live A/C are on full blast all the time so when you get in the bed, the water is coooooold and I don't care for a cold bed. Hope it works for you!

I have a waterbed and a bad back. I love the waterbed, it allows me to sleep in peace. I know lots of people say they get sore backs from sleeping in one, but it is the answer for me. I suffer from sciatica problems and pressure on that side hurts, as does the stretching of muscles if I sleep on the other side. I cannot sleep on my back so the waterbed is the answer.

Check here a very effective sciatica natural treatment http://cure-sciatica.info
Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica.

I havent seen a waterbed in a long time LOL.

I used to have one. It was a good one, with reduced motion and stuff.

Overall, I'd say its alot of upkeep involved. You dont even wanna know what moving is like.

I dunno. It was okay but it was alot of hassel just for a bed. Also, the feel of it gets old after awhile, and I started to long for a sign of land LOL.

I love my bed much better now...its a fluffy, fluffy pillowtop Serta.

I'd think about it if I were you.

GET A SOFT SIDE, SIDE BY SIDE KING, W/ HEATERS, IF YOU'RE MARRIED!

I LOVED IT, WIFE WAS PREGNANT AT THE TIME, IT WAS HARD FOR HER TO GET OUT!

IF YOU'RE A LITTLE COLD.... CLICK, CLICK WARM UP!

there aren't really any pros of a water bed. they make your back hurt really bad and if they water level gets too low when you lay in the bed you touch the bottom and every time your partner moves you can feel it.

if you don't have a decent one, your back hurts all the time.
