Akeelah and the Bee versus Bee Season...I already saw Bee Season and a friend of mine just asked me to watch?

Akeelah tonight and I am resisting, both because I thought Bee Season was just okay and not another spelling bee movie. But she claims this one is different/much better. Before I decide to invest two hours of my life to watching another spelling bee movie I'd like to hear from those who have seen it. Worth seeing/very different from Bee Season/how?

I saw both and found Akeelah much more entertaining - not just a "spelling bee" movie. Enjoy!

I didn't see Bee Season, but Akeelah and the Bee was very good. Lawrence Fishburne (Morpheus from the Matrix) is great in it.
