Mine does the same. Just remind her that past is history, future is a mystery and present is a gift - so live in the present and enjoy it. There is no use in bringing up bad memories from your past.

Sorry, it is not always the wife, man do it also, To bad it is not a statute of limitations. You end up hearing the same thing over and over, just on a different day!

Depends on whether or not the gripes were addressed and resolved...if they were, then she needs to get over it. If not, then I'd have to wonder what she thinks is "in it for her" by sticking around in a miserable situation for the past 20 years.

Hey there. Maybe a time limit would help. YOur wife may br brining this old thing up, because it bugs her, and she wants to resolve it, and put it to rest. Try to be understading and supportive. She will love you for it, and you may be greatly rewarded.... Us women tend to hold on to things a little longer than the guys... just a girl thing, I think. Hope this helps a bit. Just hang on.....
Love her cuz you love her.

I know many women do this (and a few men). That's why I believe in getting things off your chest when it happens and then letting it go. I don't believe in sweeping it under the rug and pretending there isn't a big lump there.

Speaking as a woman, sorry. I do the same thing to my husband occassionally. But you must admit we do remember the the "Big" things you fellas do wrong.
I read an article about the fact it is the way our brains develop that allows women to remember things and mens brains don't function that way.
So again sorry we have no choice.

My mom did it with my dad for 55 years. I do it with my husband because the issue was never resolved. He does it to me to take the focus off him.
Dad got mad one day when my mom was on one of her rants and he said "God I can't listen to this anymore!" Shortly after that he started loosing his hearing. He got hearing aids but kept them off most the time. Told her he'd turn them on when she had something important to say. (ha) He lived his last few years in peace atleast where that was concerned.

It would be fruitless! I can't remember what I did yesterday and don't really care. I am focussed on the present and the future!

I used to do this & trust me, it drove me just as crazy as it drove my hubby. Once he offered a sincere apology for issues I kept bringing up, they melted away & I'm free also :-)
Just a hint: shes bringing them up because they still hurt :-(

Yes, there should. Why beat a dead horse. If anything, agree to disagree and put it to bed already.
