if its a traditional horror movie i would say a really gothic one, like Prague, Edinburg or some well preserved german cities i know, or even some french medieval cities like Cart.... (damn, i forgot the name), the one thats practically a castle. If its a more modern approach i would pick something totally different, like a sunny, modern and lively city of the south. The contradiction could make it a masterpiece!
And hmmm... i just thought of Tokyo... Never been there but i have it in mind somewhat clinical or futuristic and i think it would make a great modern horror movie.

I would say salem, but it depends on if you're looking for a place that's haunted or just scary looking. Also the type of horror movie? many horror movies take place in normal places, and that's what makes them so scary. You need something that the viewer can relate to, so you can get them to say, "uhhh.. what if this happens to me?"

any city in TEXAS! like that songs says, blame it on Texas! everything happens in Texas. we've got leatherface and the devil's backbone. you pick a spot in Texas and chances are there's a haunting or two there. there's plenty scarey as hell place around Texas. there's this one house i'll never forget. so yeah, that's my vote. (and it's not just because i'm a Texan either....lol) have fun! Blessings be upon you and yours!
