When the kid is too big to play with the other kids in the playground. If a kid is much bigger than the other kids, it ruins the other kids fun. one other thing to keep in mind is some playgrounds are made for smaller children and therefore cannot handle much weight. If an larger kid plays on that equipment, then there is a potential for breaking the equipment and potentially hurting the kid. On the other hand if the playground equipment is very sturdy and no small children are playing or trying to play on the same equipment, then even adults are OK to play there. You are never to old to play.

I say it depends on the kid. I have 7 and 3 yr old boys. Both have been pushed and knocked around by rowdy "big kids"(12 and up) but they have also had "big kids" help them up and play nice with them.

The playground is not for wrestling, tag, or playing ball. There are other areas designed for this.

I think the bottom line is so long as your kids, regardless of age, can play with respect for other children they should be allowed on the playground.

I would say until 13. Once a child reaches 13 there priorities should change and mature.

PLUS: I dont feel comfortable with children older then say 13 in the playground with younger children.
