I advise you to try medication again because they have some new ones out that won't make you sick. Make a doctor's appointment and talk to your doctor about them.

first and foremost, I would consider getting a second opinion, as the percentage of a true split in personality has been proven to be quite low.
I would also ask you this, are the meds that you are taking, working? I realize that they make you sick, but are they addressing the issues at hand; if so, there are many anti-psychotic/anti seizure drugs on the market today that may help, but with fewer side affects. I would, get a second opinion, which can be followed by a visit to a PA or a psychiatrist for a possible change in prescription, (if they are not the ones giving the second opinion) and possibly consider consulting a holistic practitioner as well. There may be "natural herbal" remedies that can either alleviate some of the symptoms of "drug sickness" or even help with the actual diagnostic symptoms. There are also alternative therapies that may help, including energy therapies, which help to balance body, mind, and spirit....this in no way is to be a replacement for your regular ongoing physician and psychiatric treatment, it is to be used "in addition to."
I am assuming that you are already in seeing someone for one on one therapy, as everyone should be on the same page with your treatment, your therapist, your PA or psychiatrist, any other psychiatric providers/workers, and yourself..

I would recommend some intense therapy. Usually when our personalities split it is due to a incredible trauma that has occured during the formative years. Since this is not due to a chemical imbalance then meds would probably not help. However if you are referring to schizophrenia then meds are probably your only alternative. Find a new psychiatrist and enquire about the newer meds that have come out in the past few years. They are far less debilitating then the earlier drugs and have fewer side effects. Good luck, and may God bless you it is not easy dealing with mental illness.
