He is going to be found guilty.

If he really was smart, he would have not appealed, but rather completely rejected the court's and disobeyed them. This would have made him appear as a marty

Not Guilty.

Don't jump to conclusions here but Saddam had a solid defense.

The death count went from the 50K touted at the UN, down to 120 confirmed dead. And he as the elected head of a Nation at war commanded the attacks on the Kurds that had joined with Iran to fight Bathest. (it would be like the US airforce bombing San Francisco something the majority of Americans would love)

He did use Sarin nerve gas, however that may not at the time been against the Geneva Convention (which Iraq never signed on to)

No matter what the trial in not over and I'm sure the Lawyers will appeal.

Go big Red Go

Hee hee, that would be a nice October surprise in November, eh? Good angle, I hadn't thought of that. Yeah I think it could. I tend to dout it would help them enough though. Dems are likely to make some gains in at least the house.
The only thing that would be more helpful is for John Lurch Kerry to, ahem, "Botch a joke."

Just the way the Republicans planned it in an attempt to save their sorry butts. I think they will do an "Eichmann". They will sentence him to death and take him out for immediate execution to give it dramatic effect and avoid all the appeals murders.

Not guilty, he'll be put back in power and then we can bring our troops home.

His atrocities will be rationalized as prevention of civil war. Kill 100K people to save Millions.

Guilty, no effect on domestic politics

this should be interesting! if they give him a slap on the wrist, we should pull every troop out immediately. let them fend for theirselves. the people must make sure he gets the death penalty, asap, less than a month, but this won't happen.
