While we share the same language there are many cultural differences between the UK and USA. Take humour for example UK humour is often subtle and intelligent whereas I find US humour to be very basic and obvious. Also with friendship when I meet people from the USA they seem very OTT with being friendly. They want to be on first name terms with everyone! But it is meaningless tripe and often just a front. Here in the UK we are not like that but if you do make a friend here it's often for life.

The only exception is the TV we get loads of USA TV progs so with that bit at least you should feel at home!!! LOL

That's because you were in a different country. It felt weird because you were amongst the most intelligent people on the planet, shame you couldn't connect. Never mind,- no need to come back for a visit ever...

It is all to do with the space-time continuum. Things appear larger when closer and smaller when further away. Space is infinite. Time flies when a clock is thrown out of the window.

I know the above is nonsense, but so was the question.

Das tut mir lied, or something, in German....... :-)

Did eight hours on a plane not clue you in to the fact you weren't at home any more?

i can't figure it personally, you turn on the tv, n theres an american film, you watch the news, n theres something about the whitehouse, or "bush", there is americanism in the language we speak,
seems to me the 51st state of america, is where your at,
so put your slippers on, n feel right at home.
