Come on... If there were psychics- they'd use it to win money, gain power etc. Even if you take the argument that they're all noble (a whole group of selfless people... hmmm...), then they'd be helping the police solve pretty much every crime commited and/or anything more useful than telling someone they'll be lucky in love in the next week. How comes psychics aren't helping evacuate people before natural disasters happen? The tsunami in Asia springs to mind... or how about man made events like 9/11?
Anyhow... psychics are more likely to be called upon to "solve" love life problems becasuse people who are love-starved tend to be more willing to try alternative ideas. People who are in a happy relationship are more likely to be contented, and therefore don't look so far abroard for answers.
