Hi well first you need a stockinette cut in long enough for the arm from the fingers to the elbow, cut a little hole where the thumb is,then apply the cotton wall from the fingers to the elbow, applying it round the arm but not to tight, then apply the plaster off paris these mostly come in rolls, dip the plaster and start at the fingers and wrapping it round the arm till you get below the elbow.Turn down the edges off the stockinette for neatness.Smoothe the plaster off paris and smooth the edges so it doesnt have no sharp edges .So tell me why do you want to know, are you planning a sickie ? You can get most off these at boots or look on the internet as i think you need to get the plaster off paris from suppliers.Good Luck what ever you up too.Any more advice email me.And Drs do not apply these casts either nurses or orthopaedic plaster technicians do,thats what were trained for.

Plaster casting comes in rolls of gauze and plaster of paris. You dip it in water and then roll it onto the arm or leg. First you need to put a stockinette on and some padding before the plaster casting. Only doctors and nurses can apply it properly and for healing purposes.

First you need some cotton wool roll for padding the arm or leg.

Then you need a cotton bandage impregnated with Plaster of Paris and some water to soak the bandage in prior to applying it.

However fibreglass bandages are being used more often nowadays as they are a lot lighter.

This page tells you a little more about both types:

nicely, in case you water resistant it, via wrapping it in a bag or something, you may bypass in, yet you need to maintain your arm above the water, in case you submerge it, the plaster will loosen and start to interrupt, and you gets all varieties of beautiful micro organism and stuff starting to be on your arm and interior the forged. So i might advise no, just to be risk-free. basically stick your ft in.
