I think any name that requires a pronunciation guide is not a good idea.

It will take his friends, teachers, and even family members time to learn how to spell and say it! If you need a pronouciation guide it's not a good idea. His name may be made fun of at school, as well.
Plus, when they take tests his name won't fit in the boxes. There won't be enough. It'd be like Marcellini on the test.

Well...it is true that in today's day and age, people are naming their babies weird names, more often, but those have been simple and easily pronounced names. If you don't have one already, i suggest you go and get a baby name book, with meanings, and that should help you find a nice, simple and meaningful name for your little bundle of joy!!!!

My middle name is Marcelin - and I hate it.
Yes, this is a name that would be made fun of its ridiculous. She would also end up with a nic name like Marci - do you like that?
I think - No all the way around.

I think it would definitely be made fun of... especially once they figured out how to pronounce it.

No, please don't name your child this and ruin it's life. It's ugly and think of how your child will be when it's in kindergarden trying to spell the thing.
