I take a different approach.

My opinion is that he will either retire or return to Boston. (it would only be for a couple of months at the most, like a summer home for the family in Boston - its not too hard on him or the family)

He will not go to the Rangers, he's done with the yankees (he has some nice memories, why ruin them), his actions at his last game this year in front of the Astros crowd told me at that moment, he was sure his days in the Stros uniform were over, and he said goodbye to the fans.

The only place he has unfinished business is with Boston (after the wa he left the team) He knows the club (with new ownership and Front office) and the fans want him there, he will probably were a Sox cap in the hall of fame, why not finish your career in one. Plus he can actually be above a .500 pitcher in Boston, can't with the Astros (carlos lee ain't going to solve that)

There are many rumours that he regreted signing with the astros, and wanted to be traded to boston at the deadline. I am sure he will at least consider playing for the Sox again.

And he has a better chance of a postseason with Boston than Astros, Boston will have a better rotation and hitting than the Astros (they will need it too) If you are coming back, might as well try for another world series..

That being said, Retirement is at least a 50% chance as well, probably higher.

If he plays at all - it will be in Houston once again. Its a perfect fit, he lives right outside of Houston in Katy and he can spend a lot of time at home. Plus, he seems to want to keep playing until his kid makes it to the majors with the Astros as a catcher, then the kid can catch the father and make baseball history. Then, he can finally retire and wait to go into the Hall of Fame.

Hopefully as far away from the Yankees or Mets as humanly possible. My guess is he will pitch in houston again if he pitches at all..he is not coming back to the AL, i think he realizes what he is now is more suited to the NL and the weaker lineups.

Home... so he won't have to face the HGH questions stirred up by the ongoing Jason Grimsley trial.
