Today we have no Pied Piper who can drown these wretched pets, but yes, we do have some sure fire methods that can settle them for good. In case your house/property is under attack by mice, these should help:
• Check and plug all holes outside your house including the smallest ones (a mouse can crawl through space as small as the tip of the little finger!). These are ideal places for mice to hide and breed.
• Do not leave any food material, including garbage in the open. Once mice are starved they will definitely leave the house in search for greener pastures.
• Poison pellets and traps work well to get rid of mice. Ideally use pellets that force mice to come out in the open and die.
• Do not handle dead vermin with bear hands. They are known to carry deadly diseases! Wear gloves while handling them!
• This may sound simplistic, but no trap can beat the work of a cat. So get a feline companion who will get rid of the trouble makers.
Mice are not a reflection on your sanitary concepts. These mammals breed at a super rate – over 13 litters a year, so getting rid of one won’t work!
mosquitoes
Although some chemical repellents do work, it is always preferable to have a natural alternative. Here are some natural ways to repel mosquitoes.
Apart from trying to prevent mosquitoes from breeding in your home, and other basic methods of preventing mosquito bites like window screens and mosquito nets, there's a lot more you can do to ensure mosquitoes decide against having you for lunch.
If you've ever wondered why mosquitoes seem to be feasting just on your blood, while friends you are with seem blissfully unaware of your troubles, here are some reasons, and some natural alternatives to repel mosquitoes.
Black
You may have noticed that mosquitoes often seem to hover around a person's head. This generally happens if the person has dark hair. To combat this, you could consider wearing a cotton cap in a light shade on your head. Mosquitoes are attracted to the colour black, so if you are going to be outdoors and expect to be exposed to mosquitoes, opt for a lighter colour.
Fragrances
Mosquitoes are also attracted to fragrances that could be found in perfumes, fabric softeners, body lotions, scented beauty products etc.
Perspiration
The more you perspire and the damper your body, the more mosquitoes will be attracted to you. So, if you tend to perspire a lot, carry a small towel with you, and wipe off the sweat as soon as it forms.
Timing
Mosquitoes are the most active at dusk, so it helps a little if you reduce outdoor activity at this time - which may be worthwhile if you are living in a neighbourhood that has had a few recent malaria and dengue outbreaks. However, it may be difficult and unfair to disallow children from playing outdoors at this time. So the best thing to do would be to make sure they wear light clothing, carry a hankerchief, tissue or towel to constantly keep wiping their sweat, and to apply a mosquito repellent. A very effective and completely non-toxic mosquito repellent is Vicks Vapourub!
Diet
Watch what you eat. If you eat certain foods like bananas, your body emits an odour that mosquitoes love. So although you may not want to be off bananas permanently, since they have numerous health benefits, you could stay off bananas for a few days if you are holidaying in a place that has a lot of mosquitoes.
Avon
Avon Skin-So-Soft is a body lotion that has been proven to repel mosquitoes. Just as mosquitoes are attracted to certain fragrances, so also they dislike certain other fragrances, such as that emitted by this body lotion. Although some people swear that they tried it and it works, others deny the efficacy of this product. However, since it is a body lotion anyway, investing in one bottle will not hurt. If you find that it does indeed work as a mosquito repellent, great. If not, finish off the lotion and don't go in for it again.
Citronella
Citronella oil has been found to be an effective mosquito repellents, and many natural repellents available in international markets use citronella oil. Try and get your hands on a bottle of essential Citronella oil, and apply this to your skin. It should keep mosquitoes at bay

unfortunately, you cannot keep mosquitoes from biting. The best you can do is prevent them from biting YOU. For this, you need adequate screening and maybe mosquito netting around your bed. Mosquitoes are not attracted to light, so forget the zapper idea. The only thing that attracts mosquitoes is smell of living beings.
With regards to the mouse, if you cannot find the entrance and block it, you will have to lay desirable food on an UNSET trap over and over again for a week. Let the mouse know where the food is, that its safe and available. When you see that the food has been removed or disturbed several times in a row, then SET THE TRAP. Bingo. Nasty piece of work, but effective!

We had some mice too, and my dad set up sticky traps with peanut butter to attract the mice. We've caught two so far, but I think there might be more.
As for the mosquitos, in the summer I just try to kill as many as I can before I go to bed and then I sleep with a light sheet covering my whole body except my nose a little bit so I can breathe.

Bats will eat all the mosquitos. But which would you rather have? If bats, put up a bat house outside, then move it inside in the day time after you have an occupant, then out again after all mosquitos gone. Otherwise, put up fly paper near screens, cracks. will catch some mosquitos. Cats & mousetraps with peanutbutter are best for mice.

You can get rid of mosquitoes by using pest control.
Glue traps are the best method to trap rats and mice.
I found detailed information at http://pests.in

Reduce the risk of mice and rats in your home
Mice and rats may be discouraged and infestations prevented by improving hygiene and by blocking access points to your home:
check that air bricks are in place and intact (do not block them)
inspect for access points around gas, electricity and water pipes
check that doors fit tightly
fit cone guards around the bottom of drainpipes to prevent rats from climbing up
fit metal balloon guards to the bottom of drainpipes to prevent them climbing up the inside
Improved hygiene will restrict the availability of food for mice and rats, reducing the chances that they will remain and breed successfully. Examples of how hygiene can be improved are:
store food carefully so that they do not have access to food sources
sweep up any spills as soon as they happen
remove rubbish and other materials that can be used by mice
clean up under work units and other areas where food debris can build up
Controlling mice
House mouse problems will sometimes occur despite hygiene and proofing action. In such circumstances, it will be necessary to take control measures in order to eliminate the infestation. There are two methods of control available:
trapping
poison baiting
If you have a mouse problem that you do not wish to deal with yourself, contact the environmental health department of your local council or call in a pest control company.

I suggest just leaving them alone, they've established a home there, and they won't harm you. My family had bats under the porch overhang at a house we rented, and we never had problems, until my dad used the grill there when it was raining, and the next day we found a couple of them had died from the carbon monoxide that had built up where they were :(
