It sounds simple, I know, but......JUST DO IT. The fear of the unknown is not as scary as the feeling of regret for never having tried. Life is short, enjoy and participate. Have fun!!!!!

Your genetic make-up just may make you a shy person. However there are things you can do to change it so you are more outgoing. The easiest thing to do is to assume an outgoing posture. No crossed arms or legs. This is a visual sign that you are open to communication. Smiling also invites conversation as does asking a question of someone.

People like other people that are outgoing and need their help. When I want to talk to someone I do ask them a question. Have you read this book (in a library for instance)? Do you know a good book? On the street you could ask directions and ask for suggestions for places to shop or eat. Openly communicating invites other communication.

Good luck.

i was the exact same all my life! only a few months ago i went to speech and drama and that has really helped! but,i was also coming out of my shell and more adventurous anyway cus i was sooo sick of it! shyness is a situation, dont let yourself get shy, talk! be confident! others are shy whenever they are out of their comfort zone,so,make urself comfortable! promise,it works!

Oh, everybody's just human like you, right? so why be shy? Develop more self confidence, look people in the eye when you speak to them, don't think too much about what other people are thinking about you...just practice confidence till it comes to you naturally.

Being shy usually means you are focused on yourself and being concerned about what others think. Focus on others and what you can do for them........like saying nice funny things or whatever.....nothing extravagant........just be fun. Be yourself and you'll be surprised. When you are sincere and it shows, people respond.

you only get one chance to live life, so LIVE it!! To become un-shy just be yourself without any reservations because you can ONLY be you, and if that's not good enough for people...FORGET 'EM!!
