My best friend's infant died earlier this year from SIDS, she's been having a really hard time dealing with this and other things. The baby would have had his first birthday this month as a matter of fact his birthday is the same day as mine. I want to do something special for her...in memory of her son, but I dont know what. Any Ideas????

This is a really difficult situation for your friend, she may not be ready to deal with her sons birthday. I have no idea what she must be going through losing a child. But I do know that when my father past away I wanted to be alone on his birthday. You may want to talk to her first and see how she feels about getting together for dinner or just a girls night in before you plan anything in honor of her son.

It will be hard but a memorial sounds nice and it can be just the 2 of you or with close family and friends. Every year on my decease babies birthday, I light a candle and say a prayer for them and think about the little times we did spent together.

buy a little birthday cake, take her to the grave site, and just sit with her and eat the cake, let her talk about how she feels.let her finish crying and then go get dressed up and go ouit for a happy time for your birthday. you can make it a every year thing she dosent have to forget the baby. but dewelling on it will only make things worse

take her to the gravesite and bring a cake...she may appreciate your thinking of the baby. This is a very sad situation. I don't know if my answer is the right way to go about it but it may help her to be near her son on his birthdate. I'm so sorry for her loss :(
