I am not from the Islamic tradition, so I do not know how to respond culturally, but will try from a different perspective that may match up because we share the Abrahamic traditions for the most part.

Father Abraham had more than one wife, but as far as I know, the first wife (Sarah) had to give permission before he took Hagar as a handmaiden solely to bear children into Abraham's lineage.

[Keturah married Abraham after he was already a widower, and thus could not ask Sarah's permission.]

Similarly, in the Jewish tradition, David had more than one wife, but all were given to him by the hand of a prophet (Nathan). The one time he stepped outside of that was with Bath-Sheba and he pretty much lost God's favor for his remaining years because of that adulterous relationship, even though he married her later.

So my answer is this: if in your country and tradition Polygamy is legal, it is still God's way that you must give permission, and the holy ones who authorize marriage must do so as well.

Assuming both of those are okay, the emotional answer I can give you is that: only if your love for your husband can remain perfectly intact and even be raised higher -- because he is such a good man that he should be the father to more children than you can conceive and bear naturally --only in this instance should you ever consider this in your life.

May God (whom you call Allah) bless you with guidance and inspiration regarding this difficult question.

how can you possibly be in love with someone who wants someone else? you need to be strong, and get rid of him.
