They seem obligated but they aren't, they just WANT to become gay and they use that profession as a coverup for their ...switch

You have it backwards, largely because people don't "become" gay. They either are or they are not. Those professions you describe attract gay people. Think about it... if you were gay and you were looking for something to do and some place to work where you would have a better chance for finding acceptance and less bigotry than in the world at large, wouldn't you be drawn to such a thing?

It's the other way around.

Overtly (or flamboyantly) gay men are more likely to be drawn to certain professions where they are more accepted.

There are tons of gay men in other professions, it's just more accepted to be a gay hair dresser or florist, so gay men in those professions are more likely to be open about it. There are also lots of straight men in those professions.

You're born gay or straight, and you choose a career much later in life.

I think this happens the other wya around to how you ask it, the profession does make them "obligated to be gay".

It is that gay men have a certain temperment and inner creativity that lead them into being very very good at doing certain jobs, such as those that you mention.

What?? Why would they "become" gay when entering those professions?? There are gay people in all professions anyway, and some feel like it's okay to be more obvious in some than in others.

That is without a doubt one of the dumbest things I've ever read.

Gay men often pick professions that are artistic because that is where their interests lie, many become caregivers and are excellent at it. I also have known many straight men in all these professions. Many gay men are in any profession you can think of, from professional sports to law enforcement to firefighting.

Argh!! Nobody is obligated to "become" gay! One either IS or IS NOT gay. The obvious answer to your skewed question is that men with more pronounced creative sensibilities (gay or not) are drawn to occupations which require creativity. Naturally, this extends to women also. Those who are most creative and thoughtful about appearance are drawn to those types of jobs.

Actually you've got it all backwards. We have jobs that over time have been considered male and female. It's only natural for some of the gay men who consider themselves feminine to prefer jobs that are normally done by women.

I think the professions you wrote is associated by gay people as a good fit for their lifestyle. The profession does not in itself turn them to gayness.

They were born gay. It's in the genes. It disappoints a lot of women out there. But for every disappointed woman, there is a happy gay man :-)

Homosexuality is not a learned behavior. So it's not something somebody "becomes."
