I recently got a guitar, which I called Athena Nike, and I often just sit there and talk to it! I can sit there for ages talking away about completely random stuff with it. Is this normal? What should I do? Do any other musicians here do the same thing?
It's becoming really embarrassing....:-(

Yes, I do actually have some real friends. But they're not always around are they? My guitar is always faithful and always around.

Don't worry about it, if you want to talk to your guitar go ahead and talk to it. At least you're getting things off your chest and I bet you feel more relaxed and content with life. Too many people bottle things up and get all kinds of health problems. I think it is good that you talk to your guitar and I don't think you're mad.

I talk to the instruments i play, but normally just in a 'why did the string break, you moron', angry sort of way.

It's fine, and a good way to get rid of any anger or stress, as long as your guitar does not answer back. THen you should be worried.

Honey, I think you need to get out more. It just means you need someone to be an impartial, nonjudgemental listener. Try making some real, human friends, or calling a help line like the Samaritans.

Sad question from a borderline individual.
Rate me how you want, but honestly, relax more or get professional help.I only answer out of genuine concern; I play guitar: trust me, it ain't normal

It,s a bit strange mate, but i think it will do you no harm, but if you are using it in place of conversing with people ,then you should talk with someone about it. If you can talk with people in a normal way, then no problem. All great artist have strange quirks, maybe you are one.
