find someone who is willing to coach and help out, and assistants. find financial backers to pay for the equipment.
find other teams in the area you can play against. take a poll in the school to see if people are interested in playing.

Hi -- I'm an assistant principal, and whenever someone wants to start a new team or committee is is what they have to do at my school:
1. Find an adult sponsor like a teacher, counselor, coach, etc. It has to be someone who is certified and works for the school.
2. Have enough members to support the team.
3. Approach the principal to see if there is funding for equipment and uniforms -- if there isn't there has to be a plan for a business sponsor or fundraising.
4. Some schools require the idea to be approved by the PTA, PTO, or school community council. Find out if you have to. If you do, you need to get on the meeting agenda, and then present your idea for vote at the next meeting.
5. Once you are approved you need to get a practice and game schedule.

most schools have an athletic director...go to them and express your interest. find out if there is room in the budget to buy field hockey equipment...nets can be over $1000 each depending! you also need them to help you find a plot of land to use as your field. next find a someone who would be willing to coach the team who is certified by your district. you also need to make sure there are enough girls who are interested to fill the roster. if there are already other schools in the area with field hockey, you could try to join their league...if there isn't, you are going to have to form a whole new league and go to the head of your state athletics. that might be a little trickier, because now you need to get other schools to make teams also. once that's done, just go out and win!

then buy a plot according to that and then go for the dream team...and enjoy...
