was just given this and i cant start it , nothing happens

Need a little more details - Does the motor crank over when you push the starter button?
Remove the spark plug from the engine. Insert the spark plug in the spark plug cap. Lay the threads of the plug on the engine and crank the motor over with the kill switch in run position. Does it spark?
Suzuki's need the clutch pulled in to start. Since Arctic Cat's use Suzuki motors, the brakes may need to be applied (I forget).
Next problem to check for would be the carburetor. It might need cleaning.

artic cat 400 4x4 has a choke on left handle push it all the way down and hit start button and make sure its in nuetral . don't know if 300 is set up same way but it might be your best bet.

Put sum gas in it and replace the sparkplugs....and ask the person who gaveit ...unless it was stolen, also go to ur nearbuy atv shop and ask sum questions.
