Why do people over generalize? After 4 years you should know what the guy is like, has he always acted like that? If so, why did you stay with him, that is longer than an average U.S. marriage lasts. If this is a new behavior, you might try sitting down and talking with him, either way you owe it to yourself as a person not let yourself be used as a doormat.

You're demeaning yourself unless you break it off with him immediately. He can't treat you like that unless you allow him to, by keeping him around. Shame on you if you don't have more self-respect.

Stop the whining, and stop blaming the entire male gender. Grow a backbone. I know that sounds harsh, but it's what I'd tell you if you were a good friend or a sister of mine.

Some people like to make others feel inferior. You may want to discuss his comments with him and have him explain what was meant. You may be taking it the wrong way. Maybe he doesn't feel like he can offer you what you deserve in the relationship. If he makes you happy, let him know. If he is demeaning you and has a history of it, you may want to find someone else who treats you with respect. But give your boyfriend a chance first. Maybe he doesn't realize what he's doing. If he does and refuses to change, find someone else. If he really wants to have a family, discuss adoption. Good luck.

Your question should be why does your boyfriend demean you?

Most men don't demean women and most women would not let them if they tried.

This is more about you then about your boyfriend....show yourself some respect and leave.

honey don't lump all men with your jerk. obviously he has no respect for you, so respect yourself enough to end it now. there's no medical reason you can't marry (insurance perhaps) and there are many children just waiting for loving parents to adopt them. those are merely excuses. learn to love yourself for the beautiful person you are and NEVER let anyone do any less than love you unconditionally. good luck!

Probably the same reason a few women have negative experiences and proceed to blame it on "all" men instead of just an individual.

He's a jerk - so why are you still having sex with him. Your right - some guys do treat women (or their gay boyfriends) like crap. But some women (or gay boyfriends) take it. He is wrong but your are "enabling".

Go find a nice guy - we ARE out there.
