Me too i work in a news agents and im working all over xmas but luckily not xmas day. We were given the choice whether we wanted to open xmas day or not and we chose NO. If people haven't got what they want by then its tough luck. I have worked on xmas day a few times in previous years and i just found people un-grateful and still moaned about things. And when it came to lock up time they were banging on the door saying they only wanted a few bits and could we let them in (forgetting we had a family and a xmas to go and enjoy). Three most popular items xmas day are fags, booze and batteries.
Any way merry xmas to every one (bit early i know)

Hi,
I just wanted to let you know that you are not working alone this holiday season since I will be joining you and the rest of the people out there that are working for the holidays this year.
I work in Retail and I work for a major department store that is always open on holidays. (we close at 6pm on Christmas Eve, and of course we are closed Christmas Day) but still it gets crazy with all the last minute shoppers and all.
Anyway, our holiday hours for Christmas are the same for New Years too. so its hard to have a good time knowing that you work the next day.
I'm sorry that you have to work but again, please remember that you are not alone.
Happy Holidays to you and your daughter.

I used to work every day, I was on call for building emergency work. Christmas and New Years Eve were always a busy time due to drunks thinking it a good wheeze to smash shop windows. Insurance companies must dread this week each year, Vandalism usually isn't covered but theft is and when a shop window is broken, some light fingered person reaches in and helps themselves in the true spirit of Yule. Retirement is great.........................

Not this year THANKFULLY. When I was a full time chef and manager I have had to work just about every Christmas and New Year for as long as I can remember.
