it will mess up many womens whole personality, i would not recommend it. its a huge shot of hormones that is, in my opinion not healthy.
the pill is not much better. why not a diaphram or condoms? or just trust in god that he is in charge of when you will have children and how many?

DO NOT GET THE DEPO SHOT!!!!!! They should take this off the market. It has been known to cause hormonal problems, severe weight gain, has destroyed marriages. My husband worked with a guy who's wife became almost pscycotic after having the shot and they ended up divorced. I had the shot and when it wore off my periods lasted for 20 days straight. Come to find out it had totally knocked my hormones out of whack. Actually the person below that CLAIMS to be a nurse is WRONG about the shot!! It is NOT every 4 months...it is every 3 months! A real nurse would know that!

I was on the depo shot for over 7 years and I loved it! I was pregnant within a year of being off of the shot. I had no hormonal problems and it did not make me psychotic. I lost weight easily while on the shot. I did not have a period in the 7 years and when I stopped my periods resumed completely normal. I honestly can't brag about it enough. If you have concerns with birth control and the effects check with your doctor they can take into account your age and history. Thats where you'll find the best medical advice.

I was on the depo shot for three years and i did not become pregnant on it. They give you a shot every 12 weeks either in the arm or hip. I think it is the best birth control out there besides having your tubes tied.
I didn't have any side effects from it. No weight gain but i did however not have a period for the entire 3 years while on it (Yay)

People puts the shot down but i am telling you it is the best out there to take.

I was on the depo shot for many years. It was very effective but I had a history of migraines and the shot made them much much worse. When I got off of the shot it took me over a year to get pregnant with my first child and I'm young, I was 20. Try it and see if you like it. The good thing is it works for 3 months.

I would NOT recommend taking Depo. I did take Lunelle(once a month) shot, but that's not much better than Depo.
Also, I would stay away from the patch, Ortho Evra.
What ever you decide, I hope it works well for you. Before you decide, I would educate youself about all your options.
Good luck with your new baby.

It is called the Depo-Prevera shot. You get it every 4 months. It works well and you can do it while breastfeeding BUT the side effect is when you start the shot you stop losing your weight and may even gain a little back. I used it with my first child and gained 11 lbs back. It is very convenient and very effective. Your best bet is to talk freely with your doctor about any options you may be thinking of.

NO DEPO SHOT! As a previous person said, it will mess up your mind and ruin your relationship. Your hormone levels will become so screwed up that you will become very moody, cry and feel confused (at least I did).
