Buying something for someone doesn't show you care unless you put thought and consideration into it. Think about what your friend enjoys and buy her a gift that reflects that interest in a creative way.
For example, if she likes chocolate, buy her some chocolate roses and wrap them up in a large piece of paper like you bought them from a flower store, and on the paper write all the great memories you have of hanging out with her.
If she likes jewelry, that's a little tough if you're young. Get her a small, thin, silver bracelet and a nice book on jewelry appraisal; read it, and bookmark certain sections that you think she will find interesting. Then you can talk to her about it later after she reads it.
Just make sure whatever you get her you put some thought into it, and I'm sure she will love it.

Depends on her likes and dislikes. If she likes jewelry get her something you know she'll where. If she likes certain TV shows or Musical groups, get her a T-shirt with them on it. Or a gift card to her favorite food place or store. There are so many things you can do. If you want to impress a girl even a friend, get her something that shows you know her and pay attention to her likes and dislikes.

Some little gift set thing. Flowers and chocolate. Teddy bear and chocolate. Teddy Bear and lotion. Jewelery set. Gift card, maybe a gift card to the mall so she can shop whereever she wants. But get her a little novelty gift too if you just get a gift card. And a nice card.

(Yeah, i prefer a nice living plant over having cut flowers, coz if anyone cares for me that much why do they chop up something beautiful and bring it to me so i can watch them die in a vase? anyways, plants are great and last for years)

umm you could just buy her a sweet card and give her a gift card to her favorite place. im fourteen and i would have liked it if someone did that for me.
