Winter white is an off white. If you held a pair of summer white pants up to a pair of winter white ones, you'd be able to see the difference. It never really made sense to me about the name either, since snow is about as white as it gets! But that's what they call it.

Traditionally one does not wear white in Winter, i.e. after Labor Day. So there is this thing called "winter" white, which is not quiiite white, a bit like ivory or cream. At Easter, I think, one can wear actual white again. Kinda of out of date, so wear what you want, but that's the deal with Winter White.
BOOM.

Winter white usually refers to white wool -- which is not a stark white, but much softer, with a hint of beige to it. Like ecru or bone. The term is used to describe an article of clothing -- generally a suit, pants, or skirt -- that can be worn in the winter. So it refers to both the color and the fabric, in this case, wool.

Winter white has a cream/yellow tint to it. It's a better color for those who don't look as good in bright white.

White corduroy, white wool blazer and pants, white leather. All looks great. Stick with creamy shades of white instead of bluish whites. Wearing white after Labor Day used to be taboo, but not anymore. Hope this helps.

If you're talking clothing, it's more of a cream....if you're talking anything else, it's often a brilliant bright white.
