A soy based formula might be better for the baby than normal formula. It is easier to digest and is supposed to cause less gas

I had that problem with my two children. Started with a brand of formula that just wasn't working out. Then was suggested to use Carnation Goodstart, it was great. Also put in some drops to help the gas, out here in Canada there is a brand called Woodward's. It is the best i have encountered so far, and has been around since my mom gave birth to me, so obviously its pretty good if its still on the market to this day. Good Luck.

If you are breastfeeding that is the best ---but sometimes a baby needs supplemental formula bottles as breast milk is digested so fast and is not as filling to the baby. I had to give my baby a soy based formula with the breast milk to help with the fussiness. and it also helped with the gas to burp her every ounce. Have you tried the gas drops?? You can get them at any pharmacy and they are safe enough to give with every feeding. I hope this helps,,, I know how frustrating it is to be a mom and not know what to do for your little one... I wish I had found this site sooner....

My Little girl had quite a bit of gas and was extrememly fussy, So I consulted her Docter and asked if it was safe to switch her formula from Enfamil Lipil w/ Iron to the Enfamil Gentlease w/ Lipil, and I have not had nearly as much problems with her having gas and being fussy because of it. They also make an infant gas releif that is safe to use even for newborns that works really well and is good to have around the house for those times that her gas problem is really bad. But, contact her peditrician first to make sure that it is a safe formula switch.

My son was a preemie and he got breastmilk for the 10 weeks he was in the hospital and then went on formula when he came home. He had acid reflux and the milk based formula made him extremely gassy and he would projectile vomit. I switched him to soy and within a couple of days he was like a totally different baby. Hardly ever spit up after that.

Have you tried a soy based milk? If its an infant formula try Carnation Good Start. also has your Dr suggested Gas-X, (simethicone) available over the counter. Wrap a warm towel around his belly hold him face down with his belly on your knees, the pressure helps it get out.

Breast fed babies are usually less colicky. But give your baby Mylacon for his gas. You can buy it at any pharmacy or department store with a pharmacy. Many stores like CVS and Wal-Mart have their own version and they work just as well. As long as it is simethicone, it will help.
Hope baby feels better!

Enfamil lacto free is a great formula for babies with a lot of gas.
Also get some little tummies gas drops. They work great and fast.
