It's not, it depends on the colour of clothes and bedding you use. However, a blueish tinge is the most common colour. The blue tinge comes from the average colour of short fibres broken off your clothes. If you have a clothes dryer then check the lint filter for more examples: since only clothes go in the dryer, the fibres can only come from the clothes. You may also see lint filters in washing machines.

--Because blue is the main constituent of the mix used to create the coulors in the vast majority of clothing and therefore there is a greater chance of the fluff being blue than any other colour.

--Another possible reason is because the sweat glands around your belly button secrete sweat that has a much higher concentration of amonia than the rest of the body. As a result, all the fibres from your clothes are dyed a bluish tinge by the amonia once it has collected in your belly button.

Hope to have been of help.

Just like snow isn't really white, you're skin is actually....blue! Bones are a sort of apricot colour and your liver is really British Racing Green.

It's simply your skin falling off into your belly button, which incidentally comes from the Greek word Belliious - meaning "Smells a bit funny"
