Because it can be manipulated to allow only the party line to be seen, read, or heard. The truth evaporates. Propoganda replaces information.

Censorship in the arts is a few, depriving many, of the opportunity to think for themselves.

It is also a means of keeping corruption hidden, and thus unreformable.

The sciences are also subject to censure, such as current stem cell research, and historically with Galileo and research into astronomy.

And also, with censorship, where would I be able to get pornography? Limited pornography would be a significant reduction in my personal quality of life.

because art is the only possible way of expressing ourselves without it being seen as vulgar. even the most crude painting can be seen through romantic eyes. art depends on the perception of people and thus censorship cannot be applied.

i think people should be able to express them self's any way they see fit as long as it dosent harm any one i can always choose not to look at it or take part in it
