I read in a mag today that a woman is setting up a web site for people to become pen pals with men and woman in america who are on death row for murder and rape etc i personally think that these people should be left to rot.

Each person is a human being while the are alive. If they are on death row and deserve to be there, then they are still human beings. Why shouldn't people write to them?
Next, ask yourself - what is the proportion of black people who have been executed in the States? What is the proportion of people who have below-average intelligence? These are all people who don't have access to good defense attorneys, who can get them off like middle class white folks.
Start asking GOOD questions and start to THINK properly.

Of course there is no excusing what they did, but often people who have been sentenced to death wait years in death row before they die, knowing that it will happen. So they'd probably appreciate receiving a letter or two every week or so very much.

Your right. I think they should not be able to have no contact with the outside at all. I know this is kinda off the subject but i went and viseted my dad in jail yesterday and there was this guy taking pictures { u can get pics taken} and he told me he was was a child molester and there was kids in there visiting. I think that they should stay in the cell and never come out

although id personally not want to write to someone on death row for this sort of crime i still kinda agree that others should if they want too..at end of day they are paying the ultimate price for their crimes already..so they have been punished enough by being sentanced to death

i somewhat agree to what you mean but there are ppl out there who still care for them so maybe it might help thhem althrough they are on death row but caring for them helps them change mindset of the world about them, but i think they still derserve what they are today
