I'm in the process of removing a metal roof from a lower roof of a 2 story building. The metel bends and is nailed up under the old aluminum siding, and I was wondering if it is possible to remove say the bottom two rows of siding to work on the roof and then replace them?

I would prefer to be able to replace them with the same siding I take off instead of having to buy new ones. Any ideas?

It is almost impossible to remove it without kinking or bending it, and if you do it you must start at the top.It may work to cut the old metal roof at the point that it goes up under the siding, but if you do that you will need to work new flashing up under the bottom row of siding when you install the new lower roof.

yes you can remove the bottom rows,

you need to go to a hardware store and get a tool for removing siding. i can't remember what it called. but, they do sell them at Lowes Home Improvement stores.
just tell the salesman what trying to do. they know.

cost about $5.00 or less. i have one, they work great.
