I just bought a N64 for my room and it is currently shipping to the house. However, I have a bit of a delima... The TV my parents provided me with (works fine with the satalite channels) is kinda old. I know that game console plug-ins from the platform to your TV are video, audio, and stereo (red, white, yellow). My TV only has the video and audio plug-in availible. Would this prevent my N64 from working properly if the stereo plug-in isn't connected?

Also, what's the difference between having stereo and audio versus just audio? Is the sound quality worse or something?

No, it will work fine.. if you want all the sound, go to walmart or radio shack and get an adapter to split your 1 audio jack into 2.. then you will get all the audio, it will just come out the 1 tv speaker.

I would still work, you just wouldn't have stereo sound. Make sure you choose "mono" in the sound settings of each game, if applicable.

Enjoy your N64. It had a lot of great games.
