It did happen to us. My daughter was about 8 months old when it happened. It's easy for an adult to get a bladder infection, and even easier for baby girls. Their urethra is so short, it only takes one little bit of bacteria and there ya go.

Don't worry about it. Antibiotics, a lot of fluids, and she'll be good as new in just a few days.

And don't feel bad. Given their anatomy, it's a wonder they don't get bladder infections more than they do. It doesn't mean you're doing a bad job at all. There are some things that you just can't protect against.

Good luck, sweetheart! Enjoy that little one.

Unfortunately the plumbing arrangement of girls leaves us vulnerable to bladder infections.

A baby is in nappies/diapers and inevitably there is the potential for faecal contamination of the urethra, much more so with a wee girl.

I am sure you keep her clean - the damage was done as soon as she had a bowel motion in her nappy/diaper - don't blame yourself. The best you can manage is to make sure her nappy/diaper is changed as soon as possible after it is soiled.

I suffered from bladder infections as a baby as well. You haven't done anything wrong. Be sure to wipe her from front to back. Ask your doctor what you can do to help prevent these.

Girls are more prone to these types of infections than boys generally. Have you taken her to the doctor? She will be just fine, dont worry. But it is more common with babies since they wear diapers 24.7

It is normal. My daughter had the same thing at 3 months. I cleaned her really good adn everything. Just give her some water in between feedings too. Not just milk. Water is good for them as well.

Don't worry.

urinary infectios in girls is much easier than that of boys.
It may be due to autoinfection due to reduced body immunity.

Just consult ur health providor or family doctor & when she recieves suitable medications , she'll de alright.
