May be they took the blood sample for analysis of blood gases when the crisis was resolved.

It could be a type of abnormal heamoglobin named Metheamoglobin.
or Sulphhemoglobin

If it's just her hands and feet, I'd say she's just cold! Baby's circulation is quite different than hours, so it's not completely out of the norm for some extremities to turn some shade of blue in the first months, which most likely is because she's cold. Check her hands and feet and if they're cold, put some socks on her and mittens. I saw my co-worker's daughter when she was like 3 weeks old and her little hands turned purple in the air conditioning, so she had to put socks on her (she was so little mittens didn't fit!) So if the doctors are telling you everything is fine, keep taking her in for regular visits, but don't worry too much. Remember, bad news travel fast, so if there was anything wrong, they probably would've detected something by now. But like I said, keep her appointments and take her in if you see something out of the norm. Good luck!

I have some experience in the medical field and I have never heard of a baby turning blue like that. WOW!!! That would seriously scare me, I would defintely get a 2nd opinion if I was you because doctor's misdiagnose patients all the time. I'm sure you would take your baby turning blue over a CODE BLUE. So take her to the nearest LARGEST city by you, where the doctor's might be more trained for something like that. GOD Bless you

I would look into a second opinion. The bluing usually indicates poor circulation. I wouldn't brush this off as normal. You are your child's only advocate. Keep pushing the doctors until you have an answer. Sorry I don't have more to offer. I hope you find your answers. Take care.

please get a 2nd opinion...babies don't turn blue for no reason
it sounds like the heart

Tetralogy of Fallot is a congenital defect with unknown causes.

Babies with tetralogy of Fallot are blue at birth (cyanosis). Sometimes the blue color appears only when they cry. They also have detectable heart murmurs. Infants with mild forms can have surgery postponed until they are older. Infants with more severe symptoms often have attacks of worsened cyanosis. During attacks, they turn very blue, have shortness of breath, and can faint. This usually occurs during heightened activity, such as crying

Take her to the doctor again and ask about the possibility of Munchhausen syndrome. I'm sure the doctors will take a more pro-active role in protecting the baby's life.

Let us know what resulted from the visit. God bless and I pray that he takes care of everyone in your family.
