i was in the new nightclub last night i went to the bar and asked how much half a lager was
the girl. she told me £1.40
i said ok then i'll have one

she got me the lager and i gave her a five pound note but she only gave me 10p change.
claiming i gave her £1.50 which i couldnt of done since i had no change.

i asked to see a manager but the "celebrity guest" had just arrived at the club so the managers were too busy kissing his ****.

i waited 20 minutes before i went as i was desperate for the toilet.

this really ruined the rest of my night.
i know the names of both people on the bar.

how can i complain effectively and get my money back?

I should forget about it and next time you go there, just say what you are handing over to the waitress - here's £5 check it please! Don't make yourself ill over it.

I don't see how you can prove what happened. But I do think you should inform the manager in writing, naming the person who served you, so that he/she knows there could be a dishonest person on the bar and can keep an eye out. That way, you'll have the satisfaction of maybe having spared other people from the same fate. If you get a refund so much the better, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

Do it in writing...and send to the manager. Just write what you have here but shorten it and leave out the A** kissing bit. You might get a voucher...or your cash. Good luck. Normally we would say to customers to wait til the end of the night until we did the tills. But if the staff can't count anyway who's to say the till roll will match the cash!
PS do it on the comp so you have a dated copy.

This is the UK...

If you have money, you lose it! Unfortunately, its the truth!

The most you can get is a sorry, or if you're lucky, maybe a voucher or a free drink from the manager (LOL).

You could try asking the manager if you could see the video footage of that till (the company will probably be spying on its employees) & spot your fiver going in.

There is a lesson here, but have you learnt it? You should have caused one hell of a row at the time, especially, in the presence of a celebrity.
