Don't listen to just one doctor babe every woman in my family has been diagnosed with endometriosis and they have all had children I was diagnosed at the age of 18 and had same laproscomy as well and was only given a 10% chance of conceiving naturally and I have had two children so let me tell you get another opinion do everything in your power to help yourself ie don't use tampons, healthy diet plenty of rest and find yourself a great partner that is on your level and understands that children are important to you. If he hasn't got the time of day for you then tell him to start making time because your not going away and he better get used to lots of questions because you want answers if he won't give them then you find someone that will, if he says stop making a big deal of it you tell him damn straight its a big deal this is my body and I have every right to know whats going on inside of it you may not care but I do. Good luck and I wish you the best mate.

I was diagnosed in January this year after 7 years of pain and suffering and had the endo removed by op in June. If i can offer you any advice be persistent - i found an amazing consultant who has dealt with the physical and psychological effects of endo and i am currently receiving psycho-sexual counselling to deal with my 'issues' over intercourse. I would really recommend the National Endometriosis Society - they have really helped and may be able to given you the name of a good consultant. Good luck. x

A friend of mine had Endometriosis and I'm sorry to say that she has had to have a Hysterectomy as it is so severe. It was either that or having an operation every year for the rest of her life to have them burnt off. Hopefully yours isn't that bad.

I agree with Willow, if your specialist really cant be a*sed, demand to see someone else. They cant refuse you.

As hard as arrogant doctors are to "take", the rude specialist is probably correct, which is good news for you since you want to have children. Our local docs know us and are concerned for us. They send us to specialists because they want the best medical care possible. In your case, the specialist is the best man for the job, but has a crappy bedside manner. Take his advice and ignore his rudeness. Best of luck.

Do some research about natural progesterone cream. It helps with endometriosis, AND it promotes fertility! :)

Complain about him and ask to be referred to another consultant. It is your right to have a second opinion.
