3 months... alittle too early to start the friendly "we're just friends" texting.
Keep in mind that she'll think you can't get over her
No... don't text her, leave her alone for now.
Give it some time before you start talking with her if you still want to remain future friends

This would depend on a lot of stuff. Are you with anybody at all now? If so I would not do it. Is she with any body now? I would not do it. If the answer to all these questions are no, then go ahead and do it, but just this one test message. If she does not reply to you, then don't do it again. If she does reply to you in a nice way, then what ever happens happens. If she replies to you in a hateful way, test her back and tell her you are sorry and it won't happen again........then leave it alone.

Why not? Just keep it to saying "Happy Birthday", that way it doesn't come off as your desperate to have her back and more like your truly a friend. Don't expect a reply either. That is really cool of you and I would be flattered if an ex sent me well wishes on my birthday.

It depends on how the relationship ended. Even if she ended it, was she upset about it and really wanted to make things work with you? If so, she will really be upset if you contact her but only for the birthday greeting. She will want to read into it. So don't get her hopes up unnecessarily. Think carefully before you act. You may get pleasure out of sending the TXT, but think of how it will affect her.

You can do it just to show her you are the bigger person. She will regret that you are not in her life later, when she can appreciate you, but hey, it is her loss. Send it, and IF she calls you, don't answer her calls.

I've done that. No harm in being nice. He never responded though.
