out of a list of favorite words, I would choose baby. Babies are always adorable, it brings out a nurturing and protecting instinct. Even baby animals. All babies.
Other words I like are shimmer, sparkle, glow, and shine, because of the images they produce.
I also like tender, gentle, trust, and enjoy, because of the feelings they produce.
Words like prestidigitation, obliterate, and barbarian grab my attention
Words like retching, malevolence, and phlegm totally disgust me

my all-time favorite word is "try".
