Is it true that when you are pregnant and your stomach gets real tight does that means your uterus is contracting or this is just the baby balling up? What does it mean for your uterus to contract? Does it mean your your body is preparing for labor, if so I have been getting that alot on a daily basis (32 weeks preggo).

Yes your uterus is contracting, they call them Braxton Hicks and its your boy preparing or labor, but don't be concerned it's normal before u actually go into labor u will dilate some any way. No big deal but if they get more frequent and 5 minutes apart go to the hospital

I just asked my doctor the same thing...cause my stomache gets really hard sometimes...he said it would feel harder if it were a true contraction. He said that it is normal for your stomach to feel like your cheek...soft with a hard mass underneath it...but then if you touch your forehead, that is what the top of your stomache (uterus) will feel like when you are having a contraction.

Sounds like you are having Braxton Hicks contractions. Look it up. This is normal and will continue to happen up until labor. They will get harder the further along you get.

It is contracting. I contracted everytime that I was pregnant the whole time. It was faint but it was there. If you are concerned call your doctor. They set me up with the fetal monitor frequently but nothing ever came of it and I ended up carrying until my due dates.

its sounds like what you are experiencing is braxton hicks. they are your body's way of preparing for labor but it doesnt necessarily mean you're going into labor anytime soon. i started having regular braxton hicks around my 35th week but didnt have my son until 3 days before my 40th week.
